Extreme weather and climate change

A new report has linked the increased frequency of extreme weather events to global warming caused by human activity. The computer model used in the US-Swiss study projects the future incidence of extreme heat and precipitation events based on comparisons with frequencies before the industrial revolution began to impact on the earth’s atmosphere.  It is yet another of  many studies that urge an urgent decrease in the emission of greenhouse gases from human activity.

This NYT op-ed article from August 2015 by Thomas Friedman  outlines extreme weather events in the Middle East and speculates that environmental crises may eclipse the current conflicts between warring groups.
