Ice to Water Worldwide

The cryosphere is the still vast covering of frozen water on the surface of the planet (Spaceship Earth). As global warming advances, ice sheets, glaciers and sea ice diminish in size and add to sea level rise. This article and video from the Washington Post in November 2015 is one example of how glaciers are retreating in the US state of Montana. It touches upon the underlying disrespect for nature inherent in the search for capital accumulation and economic growth that has buried the traditional respect of native American cultures for nature and their totally different notion of human well-being.

This article from the BBC website has a similar account of ice melt in the Everest region of the Himalayas where lakes are enlarging and threatening to overflow.
